Your Ceremony – What to Expect

It can be challenging to make funeral arrangements at a time when you are grieving and possibly in shock. Not only are there a lot of practical elements to organise, but you will also have to think about what type of ceremony would be right for your loved one.

For each type of ceremony whether that is a funeral service, celebration of life or ash ceremony, I am here for you and will work closely with you throughout this difficult time. I will do this by:

Getting to Know Your Loved One

We’ll begin with a gentle and open conversation, in person or online, where I learn about the person who has died and what matters most to you. I’ll listen carefully to your stories, memories, and wishes for the ceremony, and offer guidance where needed.

Crafting a Personal Ceremony

Drawing from your memories and ideas, I’ll write a completely bespoke ceremony that truly remembers and celebrates your loved one’s life. This may include stories, music, readings, tributes from family or friends, and rituals that bring their personality to life whilst respecting them. Whether you want something joyful and vibrant or quiet and reflective (or a mix of both), we’ll shape the tone together.

Bringing it All Together

You’ll have the opportunity to review the full script before the day, and I’ll make any changes you need. It’s important to me that the ceremony feels right for you and those attending.

Leading the Ceremony

On the day, I’ll be there to lead the ceremony with warmth, clarity, and care—holding the space for everyone to grieve, reflect, remember, smile, and perhaps even laugh. The atmosphere will be welcoming, inclusive, and heartfelt, honouring your loved one in a way that is honest and uplifting.

After the Ceremony

I will give to you a printed copy of the service, beautifully presented in a folder for you and your family to keep as a lasting memento.
